• Rudolf Weyergans is a medical sociologist and received his doctorate from the University of Excellence, RWTH Aachen, Germany. 
  
• Already in the early 1980s he was scientifically involved in the relevance of edema for the perception of one's own physicality. Together with lymphologists and specialist clinics, he developed a concept for mechanical lymphatic drainage. The so called intermittent, sequential and ascending compression therapy is used to treat cellulite, lymphatic- and lipoedema. The focus of his medical studies is on functional medicine. 
  
• He is a recognized expert on connective tissue and the physiology of the physiological muscle pump, as well as the prevalence of venous and lymphatic pathologies. 
  
• Since the early 2000s, he has been developing a method for holistic revascularization and microvascularization in cooperation with the Institute Recherche Lymphologique of the Free University of Brussels, Belgium, and the Institute for Space Medicine of the German Aerospace Society (DLR), Cologne. The resulting intermittent vacuum therapy (IVT), which has its origins in manned spaceflight, is used to treat edema, as well as to accelerate post-traumatic and post-surgical rehabilitation and to heal chronic wounds. 
  
• He is a member of the International Society for Lymphology and the German Initiative for Chronic Wounds. 
  
• He lectures worldwide and is a sought-after expert in the field of functional vascular and rehabilitation medicine, and longevity. Together with his team, he is constantly researching and developing. He always surprises with holistic and evidence based innovations that regularly go beyond the state of the art and set new standards for the future.
